Autocare opens $6M state-of-the-art car wash in Guaynabo
Autocare inaugurated what it described as Puerto Rico’s largest automated car wash tunnel with the opening of its new HiTech and Quick Lube center in Guaynabo, a project representing a $6 million investment.
The company said the facility created 30 direct jobs.
Located on Luis Vigoreaux Avenue, the center spans more than 20,000 square feet on a three-acre lot and features a 120-foot automated wash tunnel capable of handling up to 1,000 vehicles per day. The site becomes the 15th location in Autocare’s network across the island.
“We’re very proud to present this concept that combines innovation, efficiency, and a superior service experience for our customers,” said Enrique Irizarry, president of Autocare. “We designed this center with the needs of the modern driver in mind: fast service, advanced technology, and products that protect the paint and the environment.”
The tunnel includes Tire Brush equipment for deep tire cleaning, 16 high-pressure water blasters that remove dirt without touching the vehicle’s body and eight drying blowers, among them two flipping blowers that move with the car to improve drying.
According to the company, the wash products are pH-balanced and water-based, including low-pH soap, triple foaming wax and ceramic-infused treatments intended to extend vehicle shine.
Irizarry said the customer experience was designed to be more intuitive, with interior signage identifying each wash phase and a lighting system that turns the process into a visual sequence. Customers may opt for full-service interior cleaning or self-service vacuuming at 15 stations.
The center also offers the “Buff N’ Shine” polishing service, which Autocare said takes about five minutes without requiring drivers to exit their vehicles.
Beyond wash services, the site includes three Quick Lube stations for oil and filter changes. The company described the service as walk-in, with an average completion time of about 10 minutes.
