As part of its continuing network investment and ongoing 4G LTE rollout, AT&T has activated two new 4G LTE cell sites and upgraded seven existing sites with LTE to expand AT&T 4G LTE coverage for Puerto Rico residents and businesses.
Representatives from Puerto Rico’s telecommunications sector presented a united front Tuesday against the proposed elimination of the business-to-business tax exemption, saying “far from helping the island solve its fiscal problems, it will trigger a double-digit increase in the price of products, services, operating expenses and the cost of living in general.”
The Puerto Rico government has submitted a proposal to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s First Responder Network Authority seeking $1.4 million to develop a public safety broadband network for the island, La Fortaleza’s Chief Information Officer Giancarlo González confirmed Monday.
