Wireless provider Open Mobile has completed the third phase of its 4G LTE network expansion project, at a cost of $100 million, to offer faster mobile broadband speeds and additional services, company officials announced Tuesday.
Telecommunications carrier Claro de Puerto Rico has reported 280 incidents of copper theft at its facilities this year — mostly along the island’s southwestern region — that not only cause service interruptions, but represent a safety risk as well. Last year, the company saw $4 million in losses related to the proliferation of the problem, company executives said.
The Puerto Rico Telecommunication Regulatory Board has granted authority to Dallas-based Blue Jay Wireless, LLC as an “eligible telecommunication carrier,” to offer wireless service to qualified low-income residents under the Lifeline Program, company officials announced Thursday.
