Nearly two years after announcing plans to harness solar power to cut down on its energy consumption, Walmart de Puerto Rico unveiled the first of several rooftop solar systems it plans to install throughout its local stores, in conjunction with Sun Edison LLC.
Less than two months after announcing plans to be eyeing Puerto Rico for the development of a $150 million solar energy project, this week Canadian firm Western Wind Energy Corp. confirmed it has signed a 30 megawatt photovoltaic purchase power agreement with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority.
The Public Buildings Authority has entered into an agreement with New York-based utiliVisor to monitor energy consumption at the Minillas Government Center in Santurce, which houses a number of public agencies in several buildings.
