The Universidad Central del Caribe was recently selected to receive a grant from the National Institute of Health for its Specialized Neuroscience Research Program of $1.4 million for each of the next three years, with the possibility of extending the financial assistance to five years, the school announced this week.
Prof. Nelson Cardona, of the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez nabbed the “Educator of the Year, Higher Ed” award from the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, which through its STAR Awards seeks to recognize key contributors in the Hispanic community in the fields of science, technology, math and engineering (STEM).
The 8th edition of the “Tour de Cure” event is slated to take place this weekend, Sept. 14-15, in Aguadilla, on the grounds of LifeScan Products LLC (LifeScan), a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Diabetes Solutions Companies, to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association.
