Aware of the benefits that its layaway program represents for Puerto Rico consumers, mega-retailer Walmart announced Monday it has activated its program at its six stores and 12 mega-stores throughout the island.
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced Monday that the agency is seeking applications from cooperatives to provide technical assistance to small, socially disadvantaged agricultural producers in rural areas.
As part of its institutional program, “One with the Environment” FirstBank will be selling a DVD entitled “Sow and Conserve with FirstBank” to benefit Amigos de El Yunque, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about the importance of protecting and preserving that rainforest, considered a natural treasure.
