Claro invests $40K, creates 30 jobs with new Montehiedra store
Claro Puerto Rico has opened an authorized agent store at The Outlets at Montehiedra in San Juan, an investment of more than $40,000 that created 30 jobs, the company said.
The 548-square-foot location is Claro’s first full store at the shopping center, where it previously operated a kiosk. The company said the move reinforced its position among telecommunications providers in Puerto Rico, citing what it described as the largest network of authorized agents and points of sale on the island.
“The opening of this authorized agent store goes beyond a new point of sale; it reflects our commitment to San Juan, to technological innovation and to creating business opportunities for more families,” said Enrique Ortiz de Montellano, CEO of Claro Puerto Rico.
“Thanks to our fiber optic infrastructure and 5G network, we are connecting more homes and businesses, fostering productivity and local development,” he said.
Ortiz de Montellano said the new location also supports local entrepreneurship while expanding Claro’s islandwide presence.
“With this opening, we close the year strengthening our presence on the island, while also empowering new entrepreneurs to grow alongside Claro,” he said.
According to the company, the Montehiedra store offers Claro’s full range of telecommunications services, including postpaid and prepaid mobile plans, high-speed internet for residential and business customers and television service through Claro tv+.
Customers can also pay bills, recharge prepaid services and purchase accessories from brands such as Apple, Samsung, Motorola and JBL.
Claro said the larger space allows sales, service and customer support to be consolidated in one location and contributes to local economic activity through job creation and retail investment.
