DirecTV renovates Ronald McDonald House to support families in need

As part of its social impact initiative, DirecTV Puerto Rico unveiled extensive renovations to the Ronald McDonald House earlier this month during its annual DirecTV Day celebration.
The effort was led through DirecTV Cares, the company’s corporate social responsibility platform.
DirecTV invested $13,500 to renovate and repair the facilities, which serve families of pediatric patients receiving medical treatment away from home. The work included cleaning, repairing and repainting the building’s facade, fixing a bathroom in one of the rooms and addressing structural cracks in the shared living space.
In addition, 15 DirecTV employees volunteered 55 hours and prepared meals for the guests.
“DirecTV Day not only represents the company’s social commitment but also an opportunity to serve and bring hope to others,” said Belkys Mata, general manager of DirecTV Puerto Rico. “Our hearts are full seeing the families enjoy this space in greater comfort.”
Ronald McDonald House Charities praised the renovation as an essential contribution to their mission of providing “a home away from home” for families with children receiving care.
“This renovation means much more than just fixing a building. It represents greater comfort for families while their children receive medical treatments,” said Mariela Jorge, executive director of the nonprofit.
