Evertec has expanded its partnership with Mastercard to accelerate digital payment innovation, strengthen transaction processing and enhance security across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Puerto Rico-based fintech said the new phase consolidates its relationship with Mastercard and focuses on driving digital transformation and creating solutions to improve efficiency, customer experience and inclusive financial development in the region.

The collaboration will focus on three strategic areas: improving operational and payment management processes, integrating Mastercard’s solutions into Evertec’s infrastructure platforms, and jointly developing digital products tailored to institutional clients and regional markets.

Both companies are also working to deploy fraud-prevention and transaction-protection tools to reinforce trust across the financial system.

“This stage in our relationship with Mastercard represents a significant step forward in our vision to modernize payments in the region,” said Mike Vizcarrondo, Evertec’s chief product and innovation officer.

“We combine technological capabilities and strategic vision to develop innovative solutions that transform the customer experience, strengthen security in every transaction and drive digital transformation at a regional level,” he said.

Officials said the alliance reaffirms the companies’ commitment to accelerate payment innovation, strengthen issuers’ presence and expand financial inclusion through scalable, high-impact initiatives.
