Evertec opens 2025 STEM scholarship cycle for Puerto Rico students

Evertec Inc. is based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Evertec has opened the application period for its 2025 Scholarship Program, continuing its support for higher education in Puerto Rico and Latin America.

This year’s program includes the Evertec STEM Scholarship, aimed at university students in Puerto Rico pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM).

“Education is the foundation of progress, and at Evertec, we strongly believe in the transformative power of knowledge,” said Paola Pérez, group head of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. “Supporting young people passionate about these fields is an investment in our region’s more innovative, inclusive, and competitive future.”

Since the program began in 2015, Evertec has awarded more than 1,300 scholarships and invested more than $1.5 million. Recipients have attended more than 30 accredited universities in Puerto Rico, Latin America and the United States.

For the 2025–2026 academic year, the STEM scholarship is available to permanent residents of Puerto Rico who are currently admitted or enrolled in a STEM program at a public or private university on the island. Eligible applicants may be pursuing bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees and can receive up to $1,000 annually, depending on available funds.

The application deadline is July 11. Full program details and application materials are available on the Puerto Rico Community Foundation’s website.
