Firehouse Subs Puerto Rico highlights menu growth, grants
Firehouse Subs Puerto Rico ended 2025 citing menu expansion, continued community investment and an emphasis on product quality, as the restaurant chain prepares to enter its 15th year of operations on the island.
Fernando Oliver, CEO of Latin American Subs, the Firehouse Subs franchisee in Puerto Rico and part of Restaurant Holding Co., said the year reflected both growth and adjustments to local consumer preferences.
“During 2025 we saw our offer of new products increase as well as the diversification of our menu,” Oliver said.
Catering remained a focus throughout the year, with options ranging from individual lunch boxes to trays for family gatherings and group events. Oliver said those offerings will continue to be part of the brand’s strategy in 2026.
Looking ahead, Marcela Rullán, marketing manager of Firehouse Subs Puerto Rico, said the company’s 15th anniversary year will emphasize value, customization and family-oriented offerings.
“In 2026, as we celebrate our 15th anniversary on the island, we want to focus on our guests getting more bang for their buck with new combinations to share with the family,” Rullán said.
She said free soda refills, customizable menu options and free kids’ meals with the purchase of a combo on weekends will remain part of the customer experience. The company expects increased use of delivery and pickup platforms such as Uber Eats and DoorDash.
Oliver said that Firehouse Subs Puerto Rico plans to continue and expand its Touch the Truck educational initiative, launched in Guaynabo last October, which allows families to interact with first responder equipment.
Community investment remains a central part of the brand’s local operations through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, company officials said.
Since entering Puerto Rico 14 years ago, the foundation has delivered equipment valued at $723,469 through 35 grants to 13 municipalities. Of that total, $195,836.95 was awarded in 2025.
Carlos J. Morell, CEO of Restaurant Holding Co., said the foundation will continue issuing grants in 2026.
“We have seen the impact of equipment valued at nearly three-quarters of a million delivered locally and we are hopeful that this amount will increase as more entities apply,” Morell said.
The next grant application period opens Jan. 8, with additional rounds scheduled throughout the year.
