FirstBank to host free business education event for entrepreneurs

Brenda Irizarry of FirstBank leads a coaching habits training during a recent 1Éxito for Business event.

FirstBank will host the 2025 edition of its educational event, 1Éxito for Business, on June 11 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, offering free training to small and medium-sized business owners earning up to $1 million in annual revenue.

The in-person event will feature six workshops focused on access to capital, artificial intelligence in commerce, brand humanization, legal compliance, cybersecurity and economic outlooks. It will also include a “Success Stories” panel highlighting Puerto Rican entrepreneurs.

“At FirstBank, we believe in the transformative power of entrepreneurial education as a tool for economic development and social mobility,” said Carmen Pagán, the bank’s chief compliance and regulatory officer. “Through 1Éxito for Business, we’re reaffirming our commitment to Puerto Rican entrepreneurs, offering them free access to knowledge, experts and resources to make it easier for them to grow their businesses in a sustainable way.”

Attendees who complete all sessions, answer quiz questions and submit a brief paragraph explaining why their business represents “1Éxito” will be eligible to win one of five $2,000 development prizes, awarded during a closing ceremony.

The event is part of FirstBank for Business, a broader program that combines financial services with tools and advisory support aimed at entrepreneurs at every stage of growth. The bank said the initiative is designed to foster long-term business relationships and promote sustainable development.
