As part of its long-term succession plan and future growth strategy, HLB Puerto Rico has welcomed three new partners who will lead the firm’s day-to-day operations and help drive its vision for the future.
Managing Director Luis Lomba announced the appointments of Keysha Torres, Edgardo Vázquez, and José Díaz as partners, noting that this marks a significant milestone in the firm’s evolution.
“This is more than a change in structure — it is the continuation of a legacy built on trust, collaboration, and excellence,” Lomba said. “These leaders bring the experience, innovation, and commitment to take HLB Puerto Rico into its next chapter, strengthening our ability to serve clients while contributing to the economic and social development of Puerto Rico.”
The new partners
Keysha Torres, Tax Compliance Partner
A cornerstone of the firm since its inception, Torres has been instrumental in building HLB Puerto Rico from the ground up. Under her guidance, the Tax Department has evolved into a dynamic and steadily growing team of highly qualified professionals, reflecting her commitment to fostering talent and collaboration. She has played a pivotal role in structuring and streamlining the department to enhance efficiency, innovation, and client service.
Torres also champions and actively promotes the core values of HLB — integrity, quality, and a client-focused mindset — ensuring that every engagement upholds the highest standards. Her leadership in Tax Compliance continues to guarantee clients precise, reliable, and professional service while positioning HLB Puerto Rico as a trusted advisor in the marketplace.
Edgardo Vázquez, Assurance & Advisory Partner
Edgardo Vázquez joined the firm nearly three years ago following a distinguished 13-year career in the Assurance practice at EY. Prior to joining, he also spent seven years successfully running his own practice, further deepening his expertise and leadership in the field. Upon joining the firm, Vázquez was entrusted with the strategic responsibility of creating and developing the Assurance and Advisory practices.
He built both departments from their inception — establishing their structure, hiring the right talent, and securing the necessary resources to ensure long-term success. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the technical foundation, operational vision, and growth trajectory of these service lines.
José Díaz, Assurance & Advisory Partner
Since joining almost two years ago, Díaz has significantly expanded the Assurance & Advisory practice by introducing new technology, shaping audit methodology, and spearheading social responsibility initiatives.
With deep expertise in the Financial Services Sector, he has led numerous financial statement audits for insurance companies and employee benefit plans. Together with Vázquez, Díaz has built a strong team of more than 15 professionals and more than 10 assurance and advisory specialists, driving innovation and excellence across the firm.
Breaking the mold of traditional firms
HLB Puerto Rico is redefining what it means to be a professional services firm, combining the agility of a boutique practice with the strength of a global network. Rooted in Puerto Rico’s needs and connected to the worldwide HLB network, the firm delivers solutions that are locally relevant and globally informed, with a strong focus on client service, technology, ethics, and social responsibility.
“Our success is not only about partners — every professional on our team plays a key role in delivering excellence and driving impact,” said Lomba.
“Guided by our values — Together we make it happen, We care, We innovate, and We are open — we continue to contribute to Puerto Rico’s economic and social development while preparing for sustainable growth,” Lomba said.
With renewed leadership and the commitment of its entire team, HLB Puerto Rico is poised to continue breaking the mold of traditional firms and building lasting partnerships that drive both business success and community progress.
