Indulac strengthens market leadership with sustained growth, expansion

Industrias Lecheras de Puerto Rico (Indulac, in Spanish) has strengthened its position as the island’s UHT milk leader, reaching a 49.7% market share and extending distribution to the U.S. Virgin Islands and Florida.
Indulac President Francisco Oramas said the company’s products “are made locally, by Puerto Rican people, by Puerto Rican dairy farmers and for our people.”
Indulac’s lactose-free UHT milk leads its segment with a 35.4% share, while its flagship 2% UHT milk rose 13.2%, representing 34.2% of total UHT milk sales in Puerto Rico. The cooperative model behind the brand has been a factor in sustaining this growth, it said.
“We’re filled with pride by the support Puerto Rican families give to our products, which validates the efforts of our cooperative dairy farmers,” said Manuel Enrique Martínez-Arbona, chairman of the Cooperativa de Productores de Leche (COOPPLE).
To maintain its market position, Indulac has invested more than $20 million in modernizing facilities, which the company says will strengthen its capacity for future growth. Its expansion plans include reaching more Puerto Ricans living in the mainland United States, building on cultural ties and brand familiarity.
Indulac is also launching an advertising campaign, “Lo mejor de aquí, siempre” (“The Best From Here, Always”), featuring work by composer and producer Cucco Peña.
