Lulu Puras Living marks 25 years of design leadership

The Lulu Puras Living team marks the firm’s 25th anniversary in the interior design industry.

Lulu Puras Living is marking its 25th anniversary in the interior design industry, a milestone for the Puerto Rico-based firm known for pairing creative work with a business strategy focused on sustainable, high-end design.

The company, led by CEO and interior designer Lulu Puras, has grown from a boutique studio into an integrated operation that includes luxury residential and hospitality design services, a décor and styling division and a concept store featuring curated international brands.

Puras credits the firm’s longevity to a philosophy she describes as “Slow Design,” a counterpoint to fast consumer trends that emphasizes durability, quality and community impact.

“Our business model is grounded in creating long-term value, both for our clients and for the communities around us,” she said. “Each project and each product we offer is designed to last generations, not seasons.”

The design division manages high-end residential and commercial projects in San Juan, Dorado, Miami and other markets, working with architects, contractors and developers to deliver cohesive results.

DeCoLab, the company’s décor and styling studio, expands access to professional design for homeowners and small businesses through targeted services, property staging and assistance for short-term rental preparation.

The firm’s retail arm, Lulu Puras Store, located at Galería San Patricio and online, supplies furniture, décor and accessories sourced from international brands that the company says align with its values of timelessness and responsible production.

Puras said this approach has strengthened the firm’s value proposition while diversifying revenue.

The company recently launched Heart Club, a membership program offering product discounts, early access to collections, private events and curated design content.

The initiative reflects the firm’s belief that “when you believe in beauty, we believe in sharing it,” framing customer loyalty as part of its broader design philosophy.

Over 25 years, the firm has created specialized jobs in design, décor, retail and logistics, while incorporating Puerto Rican artisans and creators into major projects.

Puras said the anniversary is both a moment of gratitude and an expression of future goals.

“Our commitment is to continue raising industry standards in Puerto Rico, demonstrating that it is possible to build a successful business with purpose, beauty and responsibility,” she said.
