MCS joins efforts to raise awareness about sun protection

MCS reinforced its commitment to health and wellness with a special employee event in observance of UV Awareness Month. The initiative included educational sessions, interactive activities and a clear call to action: wear orange — the color representing sun protection.
Held at the company’s headquarters, the event featured informational booths and the keynote presentation, “Protect Yourself from UV/UVA Radiation and Extreme Heat.” Attendees received practical tips on safeguarding skin from sun exposure.
The presentation highlighted the risks of UVA and UVB rays — invisible forms of radiation that, though undetectable, can cause premature aging, sunburns and skin cancer.
“At MCS, we believe education is essential to wellness. Sun protection shouldn’t be seasonal — it’s a year-round responsibility. We want everyone to enjoy the sun safely and responsibly,” said Inés Hernández, MCS’s chief medical officer.
As a symbolic gesture, MCS lit the exterior of its main building in orange throughout July to visually reinforce the prevention message. The initiative aims to engage employees and encourage the broader community to adopt simple, effective sun safety habits.
This effort supports MCS’s mission to promote a culture of self-care, prevention and holistic well-being — aligned with its dedication to providing quality health care with compassion.
