Mujer Capital back to support access to capital for women entrepreneurs

The Metro Women’s Business Center will hold the third edition of “Mujer Capital” on June 6 at the TRYP by Wyndham hotel in Isla Verde, aiming to improve access to capital for women entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico.
The event will connect participants directly with financial institutions and support services through one-on-one meetings with loan officers. Attendees will have the opportunity to present their business plans and receive guidance on financing options to launch or grow their ventures.
The agenda includes workshops and panel discussions on incentives, access to capital and alternative funding strategies.
“Mujer Capital is open to the public interested in business training, with a special focus on female entrepreneurs in the metro area,” organizers said. They noted the event provides a valuable space for networking and mentorship within Puerto Rico’s business ecosystem.
In previous editions, the program has helped approve more than $200,000 in capital and supported more than 200 participants. This year’s event will also feature the awarding of seed capital to graduates of the 2025 Kauffman FastTrac program, which focuses on developing business plans.
Speakers will include Sebastián Negrón, secretary of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce, and Carmen Mely Torres, CEO of On Point Strategy and recipient of the Businesswoman of the Year award.
The event is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration and Puerto Rico’s Department of Economic Development and Commerce. Sponsors include Banco Popular, Colmena66, FirstBank, Oriental Bank, VAPR Federal Credit Union and the Economic Development Bank.
