One Stop Career opens construction jobs in southern Puerto Rico

The One Stop Career Center has launched a recruitment drive to place workers in construction jobs across Puerto Rico’s southern region, with openings available even for people with criminal records who are seeking to reenter the workforce.
“At One Stop, we work to open opportunities for those seeking professional growth and improved quality of life. This time, we extend a call to all residents of the southern region who are interested in the construction industry, regardless of their situation, to contact us so we can assist them and help them take advantage of this employment opportunity,” said Carmen Cosme-Pitre, the center’s executive director.
The nonprofit said the initiative is part of its mission to empower vulnerable populations and contribute to Puerto Rico’s socioeconomic development. Open positions include laborers, with or without experience, as well as experienced rod workers.
Cosme-Pitre said One Stop also supports employees with incentives such as help purchasing uniforms. Beyond recruitment, the organization provides training and preparation to improve candidates’ chances of success.
“We want to open doors to those seeking a job opportunity. We support each candidate in their professional development: helping them prepare their resume, practicing interviews and providing them with the necessary tools to guide their future. Our goal is for each person who comes to us to find a path to growth and opportunity,” she said.
The organization urged applicants to apply by Sept. 16 by calling 939-287-7277 or by email.
One Stop said the effort is part of its work to expand employment development and inclusive hiring in Puerto Rico, particularly in construction, a sector central to the island’s rebuilding and economic growth.
