Oriental debuts Smart Stop banking hub in San Patricio
Oriental has opened its new Smart Stop in Liberty Square at San Patricio Plaza, introducing a banking format that blends technology, convenience and personal service.
The company describes the site as a modern hub for self-service transactions, offering extended hours and access to live teller assistance through video technology.
“At Oriental, we believe that banking must evolve and bring technological solutions that make life easier for our customers,” said Vilmarie Báez, director of retail channels. “With this new space, we reaffirm our commitment to offering a cutting-edge experience, where innovation, progress and convenience come together to put the customer at the center of everything we do.”
Smart Stop features Oriental’s live-teller system, which connects customers with a teller by video to complete deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, transfers and other transactions. The service operates Monday through Friday until 7 p.m. and on weekends until 3 p.m.
The location also includes tablets that allow customers to open accounts fully online with no initial deposit, maintenance fees or minimum balance requirements.
Users can access the bank’s services portal to make payments, review accounts or request documents.
A private room provides in-person assistance from service representatives, combining digital access with traditional support.
Oriental said the Smart Stop concept reflects its push to expand secure, flexible banking channels and to promote digital inclusion across Puerto Rico.
