Distributor B. Fernández y Hermanos Inc. is marking 125 years of doing business in Puerto Rico, a history that dates to 1888 when three brothers — Bernardo, José and Constantino Fernández — acquired a “mom-and-pop” store in Old San Juan’s La Marina district and over the years turned it into the island’s seventh oldest business.
Renown marine wildlife artist and conservationist Dr. Guy Harvey will join forces with Pesca, Playa y Ambiente, a Puerto Rican nonprofit organization, and hundreds of volunteers in a massive cleanup effort in a San Juan lagoon and estuary system highly-regarded as a tarpon habitat.
The CPA Society, in collaboration with the Center for Public and Corporate Governance at the University of Turabo, will host "The challenges of governance: proposing solutions to the crisis” forum this Friday, when a group of international speakers will share their views on the subject.
