The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense operational committee, announced Monday that eight Puerto Rico Guard and Reserve members nominated their employers for the 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The agency received 2,899 nominations nationwide.
David Álvarez, former executive director of the Puerto Rico Public-Private Partnership Authority, has been named a principal consultant in the strategic consulting group of Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global infrastructure strategic consulting, engineering and program/construction management organization.
Puerto Rico’s executive branch has the necessary staff, resources and commitment to take over managing and resolving the island’s fiscal issues and block out all of the “noise” coming out of the Legislature, veteran Economist José Joaquín Villamil recently said.
