PR Industries for the Blind rebrands as Brightforce

Brightforce employees work on uniform and equipment production at the company’s Mayagüez plant.

Puerto Rico Industries for the Blind has rebranded as Brightforce Industries, marking a new phase in its effort to expand employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, the company announced.

Based in Mayagüez, Brightforce employs more than 100 people with diverse abilities and produces uniforms and equipment for the U.S. Department of Defense.

“Our mission is to train and employ people with significant disabilities so they can achieve financial independence,” CEO Josean Feliciano said. “Brightforce represents a renewed energy to keep growing and making a meaningful impact in our community.”

As a partner of the AbilityOne Program, one of the largest employment initiatives in the United States, Brightforce offers employment, training and advancement opportunities for people with disabilities. It also supports Puerto Rico’s economy by supplying uniforms and equipment for the U.S. Department of Defense.

Feliciano said the rebrand reflects more than a name change.

“This is more than just a name change — a clear statement of who we are and where we’re headed,” he said. “Our strength comes from our people, who deserve the chance to shine in the workforce. Brightforce stands for real opportunities, meaningful work and a brighter future for all.”
