Puerto Rico’s Emu Comfort to debut at World Health Expo in Miami

Emu Comfort, a medical equipment company based in Puerto Rico, will participate in the World Health Expo from June 11 to 13 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, becoming what the company says is the first Puerto Rican medical device firm to present at the international event.
Founded in 2019 by inventor Facel Casta, Emu Comfort specializes in ergonomic, patented orthopedic equipment designed to improve patient comfort and recovery outcomes. The company’s products include devices for sleep apnea, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder, tinnitus, pressure ulcers and post-operative care.
“We’re proud and excited to bring Puerto Rican ingenuity to this international event,” said Casta. “Our mission is to transform the medical care experience by placing patient comfort and dignity at the center of every design.”
Casta began developing the company’s first products after struggling with chronic neck pain. Emu Comfort’s offerings now focus on improving the wellness experience for patients and caregivers, with an emphasis on design, durability and clinical need.
At the World Health Expo, the company plans to demonstrate its products and explore partnerships with medical professionals, distributors and health care institutions from around the world. Officials said the event could help the company expand beyond Puerto Rico into international markets.
