S.J. Marriott launches $2.2M lobby renovation project

The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in Condado is pumping $2.2 million into the transformation of its lobby and bar area, ushering in a new modern feel, hotel officials announced.
The redesign should be completed by September, and will focus on adding deep wood finishes, rich earth tones and textures and sleek metal accents to create an atmosphere of warmth and opulence for guests visiting the hotel’s iconic “1309” bar.
The rest of the lobby’s public space will feature customized areas, which will allow guests the opportunity to socialize while tables wired for business and social networking, will make an ideal gathering place for small impromptu meetings, said General Manager Hans-Georg Roehrbein.
“The San Juan Marriott’s lobby renovation will continue our evolution from an iconic, local landmark to a chic oasis in the heart of Condado,” said Roehrbein. “We’re committed to providing the ultimate Caribbean cosmopolitan experience – an undertaking which encompasses not only outstanding customer service but extraordinary amenities and services as well.”
The resort’s latest revamp comes on the heels of a $35 million room overhaul and the recent $2 million renovation of the La Vista Latin Grill and La Isla Grill and Pool Bar.
“Continuing its transformation from classic to a truly modern Caribbean luxury resort, the renovation will create a public area experience unrivaled in Puerto Rico,” Roehrbein.
