Sunhouz opens San Sebastián store to boost solar growth

Juan Riera, executive director for Latin America at Sunhouz.

Sunhouz, a Puerto Rican distributor of solar energy equipment, has opened a new store and warehouse in San Sebastián, expanding its presence and improving access to clean energy technology in the island’s western region.

The location complements the company’s first store in Caguas and is part of its strategic growth plan, company officials said.

The facility will serve as more than a retail space, functioning as a hub for technical training and support for installers and contractors. The expansion also creates jobs and broadens access to renewable energy solutions.

“The opening in San Sebastián is a step forward in our plan of growth and a direct response to the needs of our clients in the west,” said Juan Riera, executive director for Latin America at Sunhouz.

“We want to be closer to them to offer not only first-class products, but also the technical support and guidance they need for their businesses to thrive,” he said. “With this expansion, we reaffirm our commitment to be the best ally for the professionals building Puerto Rico’s energy future.”

The inauguration brought together clients, industry partners and municipal leaders, including San Sebastián Mayor Eladio “Layito” Cardona-Quiles, who welcomed the investment.

“This new location positions us as a strategic point to continue developing the solar industry in western Puerto Rico,” he said. “This expansion will benefit our communities and neighboring towns.”

Sunhouz focuses on business-to-business distribution of solar equipment, offering installers access to well-known brands, technical advice and training. With operations in Puerto Rico and Latin America, the company says its mission is to advance sustainable energy solutions regionally and globally.
