Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will make his first official visit to Puerto Rico starting next Tuesday, when he will highlight the U.S. Department of Agriculture's ongoing commitment to addressing food security and rural opportunity in the Commonwealth.
As Puerto Rico finds itself in the midst of furthering its role in the knowledge economy on a large scale, the Puerto Rico Agricultural Biotechnology Industry Association (PRABIA) and the Mayagüez campus of the University of Puerto Rico signed Tuesday a collaboration agreement that will benefit the agronomists that graduate each year.
Looking to add to the island’s efforts to promote agriculture as a sustainable source of growth and economic development, a group of entrepreneurs will host Agrohack, a conference focusing on the sector, on May 28.
