Puerto Rico new car sales dropped sharply year-over-year in October, when the industry sold 10 percent fewer units, the United Automobile Importers Group (known as GUIA by its Spanish acronym), said Thursday.
Grupo Martí, a family company based in the Dominican Republic, is looking to steer the Volvo brand of luxury vehicles back to the privileged position it had among Puerto Rico consumers several decades ago with significant investments and long-terms plans.
Puerto Rico’s new car sales remained on the positive side for the fourth straight month in July, when 6,644 units were sold, reflecting a 17.4 percent year-over-year increase, the United Automobile Importers Group (known as GUIA by its Spanish acronym), said Monday.
