New car sales in Puerto Rico totaled 7,979 units in June, representing a growth of 3.8 percent over the same month in 2015, the United Automobile Importers Group (known as GUIA by its Spanish acronym), reported Monday.
Puerto Rico’s auto industry reported Thursday yet another month of negative sales, confirming that January showed a 14.9 percent decrease in activity, upholding a non-stop drop that began early last year.
Fueled by vehicle fleet sales, Puerto Rico’s auto industry reported a 1.5 percent growth in 2011 that is expected to continue this year, when growth projections are pegged at between 1 percent and 3 percent, the United Automobile Importers Group said Thursday.
