The number of bankruptcy cases filed in May reflected a year-over-year 14 percent drop, with a total of 970 cases filed, research firm Boletín de Puerto Rico said Tuesday.
The number of bankruptcy cases filed on the island in the month of April represented an 11 percent drop in comparison to the same month last year, Boletín de Puerto Rico reported Monday.
Puerto Rico’s bankruptcy levels continued their seemingly unstoppable upward trend in March, when the total number of cases filed, 1,103, were 3 percent higher than the number on record for the same month in 2010.
