Scotiabank’s “Corre por otro” (“Run for Another”) social responsibility campaign raised $140,000 funds this year to benefit five nonprofit entities in Puerto Rico that devote their efforts to work on behalf of pediatric cancer.
In its ongoing commitment to invest in cancer treatment awareness in Puerto Rico, Doral Bank launched Wednesday “Naricitas de Amor,” a new campaign to benefit the Pediatric Cancer wing of the Antonio Ortiz Children’s Hospital.
Construction will resume on a project announced in October 2007, known as the Science City in Río Piedras, to provide Puerto Rico with the infrastructure to compete globally in the research industry and the development of new cancer treatments, Gov. Alejandro García-Padilla said Wednesday.
