Grupo Guayacán, a nonprofit that seeks to couple private equity investment with a series of programs aimed at developing, strengthening, and advancing Puerto Rico’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, announced over the weekend the start of its annual EnterPRize Business Building Competition.
Given world tourism trends, Puerto Rico needs to focus on new markets, such as Germany, Japan, China, and the United Kingdom, to find success in a highly competitive sector and lure tourists to its shores, to be able to reduce its reliance on other industries.
The jury of the Puerto Rican design competition “Producibles” selected 14 proposals to remain in the race to represent the island at the Wanted Design NYC 2014 international design fair, Carlos Bobonis, director of Design in Puerto Rico, the organization that manages the competition, announced Monday.
