The sixth edition of the “Caguas Compite” business training program — an incubator and mentorship project for micro-entrepreneurs — closed with a total of 51 people trained, 12 businesses in operation, about 20 new jobs and $1.2 million in projected sales in the first year.
The municipality of Caguas headed a commercial mission to Colombia last week that produced some 60 business meetings and potential future business opportunities, city officials said Tuesday.
Nonprofit organization Lendreams announced Monday the reopening of its Microfinance Program, designed to encourage self-employment among low-income women or to create employment opportunities for low-income people.
