The Four Points by Sheraton Caguas Real Hotel & Casino on Wednesday became the second hotel in Puerto Rico to receive the "Green Key Eco Label Award" environmental certification, an international recognition awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education, an organization that currently certifies more than 2,000 tourism businesses in more than 38 countries worldwide.
As part of its commitment to the environment and sustainable development, Arcos Dorados, the company that manages the McDonald's brand in Latin America and the Caribbean, recently inaugurated the chain’s first ecological restaurant operating in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Environmental education programs, organizations struggling to rescue endangered species and community proposals to combat illegal dumps, are some of the initiatives that Toyota Foundation will support this year through its environmental grant program, awarding $80,000 to various organizations Tuesday.
