The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced it has added a former battery recycling facility in Arecibo to its Superfund National Priorities List of the country’s most hazardous waste sites.
The U.S. Environmental Protection is proposing a cleanup plan to address sources of chemical contamination at the Papelera Puertorriqueña Inc. Superfund site, a paper and plastic goods manufacturer in Utuado, the agency confirmed.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reached an agreement with Marina PDR Operations, LLC, resolving its alleged failure to apply for and obtain coverage under the 2008 National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Multi-Sector General Permit for its discharges of stormwater runoff from the Marina Puerto Del Rey into the Caribbean Sea.
