In the wake of the 2017 hurricanes, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is providing emergency assistance to dairy operators in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. USDA is preparing for signup to begin Oct. 21, 2017, the agency announced.
Resident Commissioner Pedro Pierluisi on Tuesday urged Puerto Rico farmers to participate in the six orientation sessions the U.S. Farm Service Agency will conduct through Dec. 15, to let them know of the assistance programs available to them in the case of natural disasters and other emergencies.
