The President Barack Obama administration announced Tuesday the start of the third round of the $26 million multi-agency “Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge” to foster innovation-fueled job creation through public-private partnerships.
The U.S. Department of Labor announced the availability of $35 million in funds to develop, enhance and promote Self-Employment Assistance programs in all 50 states, including Puerto Rico, which will receive $504,523.
Some $180 million that Puerto Rico receives in funding assigned annually through the Federal Communications Commission could be at risk due to the methodologies the agency is implementing to phase out the Universal Service Program and usher in its replacement, the Connect America Fund.
