Economic Development and Commerce Secretary Manuel A. Laboy-Rivera announced today that the agency has activated rapid response services under the Workforce Development Program to provide guidance and services to employers and displaced workers affected directly or indirectly by hurricane Irma.
Due to the hurricane warning issued for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands ahead of the passage of Hurricane Irma, Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló, will ask President Donald Trump, to declare a state of emergency for the Island prior to the disaster.
The Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico an “Adversary Complaint for Declaratory and Injunctive Relief” seeking to enforce the certified Commonwealth’s Fiscal Plan.
