Meet Puerto Rico, the organization in charge of promoting the island in the groups and conventions market, has locked down three major conventions this year, which should “contribute to reversing the downward trend” the sector experienced in 2016.
Puerto Rico is preparing to welcome 71 groups that will be on the island in February and March to carry out their winter meetings, conventions and conferences that could translate into a $20 million direct benefit to the economy, Meet Puerto Rico President Milton Segarra said Wednesday.
Puerto Rico’s group business activity is kicking off strongly this summer, with 70 events — including conferences, annual meetings and sports activities — already lined up for the season.
