The President of the Puerto Rico Telecommunications Regulatory Board, Javier Rúa-Jovet, has been selected by the Nominations Committee of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to a global advisory commission in charge of overseeing the interests and viewpoints of Internet users.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) confirmed Tuesday the cancellation of its upcoming convention slated to take place in San Juan, due to concerns related to the Zika virus, Akram Atallah, first president of ICANN's global domains division, said.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, known as ICANN, will host its third public meeting of 2016 in Puerto Rico, from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4, the organization announced late last week.
