T-Mobile USA announced Tuesday there will be a second round of layoffs in coming weeks as it continues to restructure its operation, a decision that will have no impact on its Puerto Rico operations, local officials confirmed.
The Economic Development Bank, the Family Department's Socio-Economic Development Administration, known as ADSEF, the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (CofC) and the United Retailers Association (CUD) announced Thursday the signing of a pair of agreements to launch a job promotion plan for low-income residents.
Fifteen companies made the commitment last month to invest $248.3 million in machinery and equipment, and create 1,369 jobs in the next 18 to 36 months, Economic Development and Commerce Secretary José Pérez-Riera said Wednesday.
