Anna’s Linens announced that, after the favorable reception it has had since entering the local market, the retailer decided to open its sixth store in Puerto Rico ahead of schedule. The new 15,000-square-foot store — the home goods retailer’s largest store in Puerto Rico — is located at the Mayaguez Mall, at Borders’ former location, and it required an investment of approximately $900,000. The store is scheduled to open its doors Dec. 13.
The public and private sectors have pumped more than $23 million into renewable and energy efficiency ventures in the Mayagüez region over the past three years, financing green energy projects for 2,344 homes and retroffiting of efficient lighting and air conditioning systems in area businesses, Energy Affairs Administration Interim Executive Director Juan Carlos Díaz said.
The town of Mayagüez will host this Friday an event to generate awareness and educate on solar energy and energy efficiency. The "Green Energy Business Conference – The Solar Challenge" conference will gather academics, green energy industry professionals and businesspeople interested in developing renewable energy and energy conservation projects in their facilities.
