The MCS Foundation has joined forces with the U.S. YMCA in a fundraising effort after the passing of Hurricane María, with the funds destined to help “the Y” in Puerto Rico, mainly its services and renovations to its facility. The insurer is contributing $300,000 to the nonprofit.
MCS Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by MCS Healthcare Holdings, LLC, has donated an electric generator to make possible the opening of a sewing center to manufacture mosquito nets and tarps in the Pueblito del Carmen community in Guayama.
The MCS Foundation announced that YMCA of the USA has raised $200,000, which the nonprofit’s creator, Medical Card Systems Inc., will match dollar-for-dollar to support disaster relief efforts to help individuals, families and the communities served through the YMCAs in Puerto Rico.
