Less than two months after the completion of the merger between Medtronic and Covidien, two powerhouse medical device companies with operations in Puerto Rico, top-level executives confirmed that the integration process will take about three years to complete.
As part of its 40th anniversary celebration on the island, Medtronic Puerto Rico awarded $300,000 in health grants to five Puerto Rican nonprofit entities to support them in their quest to increase access to the treatment of chronic diseases in disadvantaged communities.
Medtronic plc, a global developer of medical technology, services and solutions, announced Monday it has successfully completed the previously announced acquisition of Covidien plc, in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at some $49.9 billion.
