Crowley Puerto Rico Services, Inc. announced Monday it “has further solidified its commitment to Puerto Rico” with the execution of a $48.5 million construction contract for a new pier at its Isla Grande Terminal in San Juan, along with a 30-year lease extension for the property with the Puerto Rico Ports Authority.
Gov. Alejandro García-Padilla, flanked by members of the current and previous administration, inaugurated Tuesday the second phase of the Bahía Urbana redevelopment project in Old San Juan, between Piers 7 and 8, at a cost of $40 million. The new facilities will create 100 direct and indirect jobs.
A rare event took place Wednesday when five cruise ships with more than 15,000 passengers aboard docked at the Port of San Juan, said Ports Authority Executive Director Víctor Suárez.
