Less than a week after disclosing plans to invest new vessels to serve the Puerto Rico route, maritime shipper Crowley and the Gov. García-Padilla administration announced Tuesday the company’s plans to turn the island into its export hub for the Caribbean.
In the first 100 days since the Puerto Rican government turned over the management of the, the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, to Aerostar Airport Holdings, the new operator said Tuesday it has already checked off a number of improvements from its list.
Gov. Alejandro García-Padilla, flanked by members of the current and previous administration, inaugurated Tuesday the second phase of the Bahía Urbana redevelopment project in Old San Juan, between Piers 7 and 8, at a cost of $40 million. The new facilities will create 100 direct and indirect jobs.
