The Roosevelt Roads Redevelopment Authority announced the selection of eight microbusinesses from Puerto Rico’s eastern flank to establish operations inside the former Navy base that is currently being repurposed for public access.
Gov. Alejandro García-Padilla stressed Tuesday the importance of the development of the aircraft maintenance, repair and reconditioning center by Lufthansa Technick in Aguadilla as the “axis of a new industry that will consolidate the ongoing diversification of the island’s economy.”
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has finalized its plan to clean up contaminated soil and groundwater at the Cidra Groundwater Contamination site, which includes portions of the Cidra commercial district and an industrial park. The EPA said Tuesday it estimates cleanup costs will be about $12.9 million.
