Looking to strengthen small businesses growth in Puerto Rico, the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce and the U.S. Small Business Administration have partnered to exchange information and support resources in favor of the sector.
Supporting programs for innovative, technology-driven small businesses under SBA’s Federal and State Technology (FAST) partnership program, the U.S. Small Business Administration has granted 20 awards, of $95,000 per award, for Fiscal 2013 to 20 state and local economic development agencies, business development centers, and colleges and universities.
The U.S. Small Business Administration approved 476 loans in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands during the first nine months of fiscal year 2013, an 18 percent increase over loans approved during the same period in 2012.
