DDR Corp., owner and manager of 15 shopping centers in Puerto Rico, is inviting the general public to join its community effort, "This Back to School, Say Present,” which aims to collect and donate school supplies to several nonprofit organizations that need materials for school children under their care.
About 3,000 school supplies were delivered by DDR’s Puerto Rico shopping centers to six nonprofit organizations that provide services to children and youth of school age.
More than 90 percent of teachers spend their own money on basic school supplies for their students, according to a recent survey, so this week OfficeMax, its back-to-school shoppers and business customers, donated nearly $1.9 million in school supplies to teachers.
