More than half of Puerto Rico homes had access to the Internet in 2013, according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau through its Puerto Rico Community Survey.
The Puerto Rico Statistics Institute has requested the island’s inclusion in a monthly survey published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration that will allow more timely access to the evolution of Puerto Rico’s energy system, agency Executive Director Mario Marazzi said.
The tripling of global oil prices during the last decade has been largely passed through to consumers in Puerto Rico’s oil‐intensive economy, causing a domino effect that has trickled down through the main sectors of the economy, Banco Popular’s “Progreso Económico” report concluded.
