The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Puerto Rico Statistics Institute announced Thursday a series of changes to the methodology used to create Puerto Rico’s labor surveys, to align them with what is done and is available stateside and in most developed countries, officials for both agencies said.
Puerto Rico government officials announced the start of the process to prepare the island’s first official Human Development Report, to be based on the methodology that the United Nations Program for Development has been using since 1992.
The Puerto Rico Statistics Institute and its Executive Director Mario Marazzi participated this week in the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean’s VII Meeting of the Statistical Conference of the Americas, in Santiago, Chile.
